DAVAO’s first premier hotel, Marco Polo Hotel–Davao renews its commitment to provide Dabawenyos high-quality hotel services as it celebrates its 20th anniversary this year.
Marco Polo Hotel-Davao general manager Dottie Wurgler-Cronin, in an interview with Sun Star Davao said that the hotel’s direction is to continuously contribute in Davao growth as a city.
“The plan is the continuity of our business that it will be sustainable, it will be a strong organization that is contributing to the growth of Davao, that is how we position ourselves other than being still the premier hotel in the city,” she said at the sidelines of the hotel’s “Great Anniversary Fair” last March 23.
She added that with the hotel’s international brand that is trusted globally, they believe that they will continue to have a strong presence here.
On the stiff competition in the hotel and accommodation industry here, Cronin underscored that they welcome the entry of various hotel firms in the city.
“Competition is always there, it is actually good as it will challenge everybody to bring our level of standards up and also it gives the people more choices. We can be selfish but that is not the healthy attitude in the business, we should always welcome it, it is for the benefit of the city and its people,” she said.
Meanwhile, hundreds of Dabawenyos enjoyed the recently-concluded anniversary fair last Friday which offered big and special rates voucher on rooms, events, dining outlets and business centers, among others.
“This is just a kick-off to our anniversary. We would like to show to our supporters, loyal clientele, business partners that we have recognized their efforts in supporting us in doing business here, now is our time to give back, so we offered various special rate vouchers on guest rooms, events, dining outlets, this is our gift to all our clients and partners,” she said.
