THE Kapuso Network’s primetime series “Sherlock Jr.” is expected to be extra exciting in the coming days as more mini cases will be featured.
With these upcoming interesting scenes, the acting skills of its lead star, Ruru Madrid, will be put to test once more. However, it appears that it is not the most challenging part of the show.
While speaking with the Davao entertainment press at Rekado restaurant to join the celebration of Araw ng Dabaw recently, the young actor revealed that the biggest test was actually the fact that he needs to constantly deal with a dog.
Ruru shared that he has phobia of dogs. It is a good thing, though, that her leading lady, Gabbi Garcia, is a certified dog-lover.
According to him, the actress helped him get over his fear.
She said that “He had a glimpse of how it is to have a dog” because of her pet.
After falling in love with Serena, the endearing golden retriever he is within the show, Ruru has become more prepared to take on more exciting scenes.
“Every week ay naggi-guest kami ng bagong artista,” said the actor, who portrays the role of Sherlock “Jack” Jackson, Jr., a clever investigative reporter out to solve mysteries.
“Every week ay may iba’t ibang cases na dapat i-solve,” added Gabbi, who plays Lily Pelaez, a jolly and bubbly veterinary clinic assistant which loves to join beauty tilts.
When asked if they have fears about the possibility that their show will be marked as “dragging” because of so many artists that get featured weekly, Ruru quipped: “Sa teleserye kasi lahat ay pwedeng mangyari.”
The actor further explained that the writers always have a hand on how to make each episode interesting to audience. He pointed out his optimism if consistently offering a fresh take on every case presented.
When it comes to ratings, he noted that “It’s fighting at nakikita naman po naming maganda ang pagtanggap ng viewers.”
Adding to Ruru’s statement, Gabbi had this to say: “The goal naman talaga is to give a good show. And, I think, it’s what we’ve been doing naman.”
“Sherlock Jr.” is an original concept of Aloy Adlawan and directed by Rechie del Carmen.
Catch the unending mystery-solving journey of Jack every weeknight on GMA Telebabad, right after “24 Oras.”
