80 street children in Consolacion get food, vitamins

EIGHTY street children were fed and received vitamins from police and a fraternity group on Wednesday afternoon, March 28, in Barangay Poblacion Oriental, Consolacion, Cebu.

The activity was spearheaded by Chief Inspector Gerard Ace Pelare, the town police commander who dubbed it as Police and Partners' Acts of Kindness for Consolacion Kids (Packs).

Pelare said the sponsors of the vitamins, medicines and the feeding activity were the members of Alpha Kappha Rho fraternity and sorority.

After eating their food, the children were taught on how to maintain a healthy body, as well as on how to be a good and responsible child.

Pelare initiated the Project Police Packs last February.

A memorandum of understanding was signed by Consolacion Mayor Teresa Alegado, 12 sponsors (businessmen and non-government groups), and Pelare.

Pelare said they are aiming to take care of 50 street children, ages 10 to 15. They will be gathered every Wednesday afternoon. (KAL/SunStar Cebu)
