Zamboanga City gets 18 new school buildings

THE Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is set to build 18 school buildings worth P467.63 million in the first district of Zamboanga City this year.

The projects will be funded by the Department of Education (DepEd) under the agency School Building Program.

First district Representative Celso Lobregat, chair of the House committee on public works and highways, said a bidding has been held and the project is “up for construction.”

The facilities will be built in: Rio Hondo Elementary School; Talisayan National High School; Pasonanca Elementary School; Labuan Central School; Recodo National High School; Sta. Maria Central School; Patalon Elementary School; Sinunuc Elementary School; Catalina Vda. de Jalon Elementary School; San Roque Elementary School; Recodo Elementary School; Sinunuc National High School; Regional Science High School; Southcom Elementary School; San Jose Gusu Elementary School; and, San Roque National High School.

“We are very much concerned in molding the future of our young generations. Education is very important and providing them the necessary infrastructure is our great contribution to their success,” Lobregat said. (SunStar Philippines)
