ALL is set to welcome the summer season as the City Government sets the calendar of activities for the 2018 Summer Festival.
The City Hall Information Office said in a statement that the summer festival, dubbed Summer na Zamboanga 2018, will kick off with an opening salvo at 1 a.m. on Sunday, April 1, at the Golf Beach Resort.
It said the opening salvo is open to all, and will feature fun games and activities for families.
The Sta. Cruz Island will be pulling out all stops to celebrate summer with its Fiesta na Isla de Sta. Cruz 2018, now on its second year.
Set from April 14-May 12, visitors to the famed pink-sand island will get to participate in an array of beach games and entertainment.
On April 26, the city will come together to commemorate the Dia de Ma’am Caling, the birth anniversary of former Mayor Maria Clara “Caling” Lobregat.
A commemorative mass at 4 p.m., to be followed by a program at 5 p.m. at the Jardin Maria Clara will mark the celebration.
The Chav-Pop night will cap off the Dia de Ma’am Caling with Chavacano serenades.
