THE Police Regional Office (PRO)-Zamboanga Peninsula has turned over four brand new vehicles and equipment to four of its units to enhance the anti-crime campaign in their respective areas of operations.
Chief Superintendent Edwin De Ocampo, PRO-Zamboanga Peninsula deputy regional director for administration, said on Saturday the newly-acquired vehicles were 4x4 Toyota Hilux.
De Ocampo, who headed the turnover, said the recipients of the brand new vehicles are the Regional Mobile Force Battalion; Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Public Safety Company; Zamboanga Del Norte Provincial Public Safety Company; and Zamboanga Del Sur Provincial Public Safety Company.
De Ocampo said the four mobile commands have also received 20 Global Positioning System (GPS) and 50 night vision goggles.
Superintendent Marlou Labares, chief of Regional Chaplain Service, officiated the blessing rites of the new vehicles that were turned over on Monday.
The distribution of new patrol vehicles is part of the continued effort of the Philippine National Police (PNP) to upgrade the facilities and equipment of the local police forces to support its field operations.
De Ocampo told the recipients to take good care of the new vehicles and equipment.
