2 children drowned on Easter Sunday

TWO children, both five years old, drowned on Easter Sunday, April 1, in Talisay City and Tuburan, Cebu.

At 11 a.m., April Ann Ragosata Tanriago drowned in Mananga River in Barangay Lagtang, Talisay City.

Investigation showed the girl went with her father, Edward, who fished in the river.

Edward left his daughter alone. He later found the child floating lifeless.

He rushed the girl to Talisay District Hospital, where Dr. Neri Ratcliffe declared her dead on arrival.

In Barangay Abalan, Tuburan, a five-year-old boy drowned in a swimming pool in a resort.

Police identified the fatality as Mike Joseph Gomez.

The boy was with his family before the incident. His parents failed to notice Gomez went far from them and swam in the pool for adults. (KAL/SunStar Cebu)
