THE Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) in Davao City has reported that three lawyers are facing complaints before their office this year.
IBP-Davao City Chapter president Rogelio Largo said the IBP is still processing the complaints against three respective lawyers in Davao City.
"Pinapasagot pa namin yung tatlong lawyers involved. We are not going into specifics because our procedure on the matter is confidential," Largo said.
Among the complaints received by the office were lawyers who received money in exchange for a favor and lawyers who abandoned cases after they were paid by their clients.
In line with these concerns, Largo appealed to members of the IBP to remain faithful to their oath and continue to adhere to the code of ethics as they practice their profession.
Largo said anyone who violates the law will have to face necessary discipline. He also appealed to the public to file complaint before their office should there will be abusive lawyers.
