Chief executive commends police for peaceful Holy Week

MAYOR Jose Espinosa III commended Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) personnel for the successful Holy Week security operations as part of Oplan Summer Vacation (SumVac).

“Congratulations for you have done your job well in helping our city to be peaceful during Holy Week. And thank you because your presence made the public feel safe and secured. Continue to make Iloilo City one of the most peaceful cities in the whole region,” Espinosa said.

ICPO operations chief Superintendent Jowel Saliba credited public cooperation and support as among the major factors that helped in the success of their security plan.

“The public was able to take note of the safety measures that we advised. We didn’t encounter any problem with the inspections,” Saliba noted.

ICPO thanked the Police Regional Office VI for sending an additional 226 personnel to assist them.

A total of 480 policemen including 208 force multipliers were deployed in areas of convergence, and police assistance desks were also set up in some areas to respond to emergency situations. (PR)
