Garcia, Martes top weekend Night Run

FORMER Philippine team member Christabel Martes clocked 22 minutes and 32 seconds to rule the 5K division of the Night Run during the weekend at the Camp John Hay Historical Core.

Mark Christian Garcia and Cesar Castaneto Jr. clocked 18:03 and 18:04, respectively, to take the top two spots in the male category and received cash prizes from The Podium Boutique Hotel on top of their prizes for checking in below 20 minutes.

Completing the top five in the men’s side are Rommel Seno (20:44) who bagged third place while Jasper Barroga (21:00) and Kiddy Badongen (22:27) finished fourth and fifth, respectively.

With Martes bagging the top honors in the distaff side, Ira Mae Gani checked in at 23:11 to settle for second while Jolina Jose (27:14) finished third as Wendy Salda (27:30) and Fides Ordonez (27:33) was fourth and fifth.

Reymark Quezada meanwhile topped the three kilometer race with a time of nine minutes and 12 seconds besting Karlo Lee who checked in second with a time of 10:35 while Anthony Fackayan came in at 11:07 for a decent third place finish as Eugene Seno (11:34) and Rj De Guzman (11:47) completed the top five.

Sisa Mae Caronogan finished the 3K course with a time of 11:23 to top the ladies division with Felicity Lorenzo coming in at 11:55 to check in at second while Farah Dangadang came in with a time of 13:48 to settle for third place as Collyne Duyot (15:36) and Llana Alinsug (14:33) completed the top five finishers.

In the boys category, Geri Villafuerte finished the race with a time of 9:47 edging Richard Ulat Jr. who completed the race with a time of 11:21 while Alec Aparentado had a time of 11:33 as the three earned the top spots while Lance Anthony Morales (13:00) and Aichi Aparentado (15:10) completed the top five.

The girls side saw Samantha Corpuz toppig the contest with a time of 11:20 while Jaliyah Caluza finished with a time of 11:21 to finish second as Cyrill Ann Paranes completed the top three with a time of 11:36 while Fei Lahainan Digermo (12:10) and Revershel Dancel (12:36) checked in fourth and fifth, respectively.

Organizers said top finishers in all categories received P100,000 worth of accident and disability benefit for one year from AXA life in the foot race also backed by John Hay Management Corporation, Camp John Hay, The Podium Boutique Hotel, Inkline, Valley bread, Toyville, Amaron, North Pine, Tupa Airsoft, C and Triple A Supermarket, Hill Station, Hoka Brew, NLMAC, Mountain King, Anytime Fitness, Tiongsan Dept. Store, Rancho Norte, Foodjective and North Haven Spa.

Organizers added proceeds of the run will go to the triathlon training camp to be hosted by Team Podium Boutique Hotel Baguio with Triathlon national coach Melvin Fausto on May 4 to 6, 2018 and other upcoming youth sports program by the team.
