Man shot dead

A MEMBER of a people's organization in Negros Occidental was shot to death by two unidentified men at Barangay Gil Montilla in Sipalay City Tuesday afternoon.

The man killed was Ben Sumagaysay, 53, of Barangay 1, Hinoba-an town.

Police Officer 1 Mark Mabayad, investigator of Sipalay City Police Station, said the victim, who was driving his pick-up truck, was on his way home when he was waylaid by the assailants.

The gunmen, who were wearing bonnets, fired at the victim using an unknown firearm.

Sumagaysay sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Mabayad said they have yet to determine the motive of the incident. The investigation is ongoing. (GYM)
