‘MagTV Na!’ turns 10

I WAS looking forward to setting foot in the white sand of Boracay beach this year after five years or so. First it was Laboracay that was in mind when me and my cousin Eric John Doños planned the trip.

However, due to conflict in schedule, we decided to reschedule the trip to also coincide with the arrival of a relative from the US, James dela Cerna Phelps and his wife Ioana.

Now that the closure-for-clean-up of the island has been more or less finalized starting April 26, I guess Plan B has to be activated. We might consider places in Negros Oriental, Siquijor or Bohol.

ABS-CBN Cebu’s Sunday program “Mag-TV Na” celebrates its 10th anniversary with the theme Diyes Is It! One of its strongest segments, Home Make Over, has already given eight households the joy of having their homes undergo a facelift.

Another makeover is scheduled to be given away this year. Good luck to the loyal viewers!

It was fun watching and listening to Gina Lopez as she shared her impression of the beauty and serenity of Kinatarcan Island off Bantayan Island. It was also on the island where she saw people suffering from poverty.

Coming from a more fortunate family, Gina wanted to share her blessings with the less fortunate by forming the Investments in Loving Organizations for Village Economies (iLOVE) Foundation, which spearheads the Quest for Love and gives social enterprises, cooperatives, people’s associations, foundations, non-government organizations and other socially oriented organizations the chance to make sustainable community-based businesses.
