Anchorman’s offense is non-bailable

CHARGES are filed against the taxi driver moonlighting as an anchorman in a Catholic-run radio station here over selling illegal drugs.

Police Superintendent Mardy Hortillosa, spokesperson of the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (COCPO), said charges have been filed against Lodymer Jagos alias Lantoy, 29, a resident of Zone 2, Barangay Tagpangi for violating sections 5 for selling illegal drugs, a non-bailable offense, and section 11 for possession of the illegal substance with the bail set at P200,000.

Hortillosa said the charges were filed last March 27. He also clarified that the police have been careful in giving details of Jagos' arrest to the media because of its follow up operations.

"We did not immediately give out information to the public because of our follow up operations focused on the suspect's accomplices. But because it was reported widely, all of our follow up operations failed," he said.

Police arrested Jagos in a drug bust in Zayas, Carmen last March 25, and allegedly yielded some seven sachets of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, known as “shabu,” worth nearly P4,000.

Police said the radio personality has been selling the prohibited drugs in uptown villages and downtown communities of the city.
