AFTER the successful staging of the inaugural softball tournament last year in Manapla, the sport continued to grow strong and gained ground particularly in the Macasa (Manapla, and cities of Cadiz and Sagay) District.
On April 28, Hda. Lourdes Ballpark in Manapla will host the Negros First 2nd Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr. Area 2 Inter Hacienda Summer League and the 1st Lourdes Socorro Escalante Open Summer League.
These events will feature talents in the province that used to reign in many local and national tournaments during their primes.
Seeing action for the 2nd Gov. Marañon tournament, which will be played every weekend, are six teams from the Macasa District–2 each from Manapla, and cities of Cadiz and Sagay.
Taking the softball diamonds of Hda. Lourdes Ballpark for the Open Summer League is teams from Murcia, Paglaum Village-Bacolod, Carlos Hilado Memorial State College-Talisay, and the cities of Talisay, Silay, and Sagay.
Games will be played on Sundays only.
Prizes and trophies are at stake to the winners of this competition.
