‘Ozamiz robbery group member’ nabbed in Talisay drug bust

A SUSPECTED member of the Ozamiz Robbery Group and the second most wanted drug personality in Talisay City was arrested in a drug bust in Barangay Tanke Monday morning.

Elmer Macarambon, also known as Wilmer Oca, was arrested after he was caught by police operatives selling illegal drugs in Sitio Suba, Barangay Tanke at 7 a.m. Monday, April 9.

Aside from Macarambon, also arrested is Baby Cherryl Obsequias, 35, whom the former pointed out was also an illegal drug seller just like him.

Aside from the drug bust, police operatives led by Superintendent Marlu Conag also presented Macarambon with a warrant of arrest for illegal drug selling and possession following his apprehension.

Recovered from Macarambon were 16 packs of suspected “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride) worth P561,000.

Conag told reporters Monday that Macarambon was not only involved as an illegal drug seller but also as a suspected gun-for-hire.

Macarambon was initially arrested five years ago for explosives possession but was freed after the charges against him were dismissed.

Conag said Macarambon was one of their subjects during an “Oplan Silhig” operation their conducted in Barangay Manipis last month but he was able to elude arrest. (JKV/SunStar Cebu)
