THREE persons died in separate drowning incidents in Negros Occidental over the weekend.

In Talisay City, Joven Cabading, 37, of Tigbauan, Iloilo was found by his friends floating in a river at Hacienda Tabayag, Barangay Dos Hermanas at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, police records showed.

The investigation is ongoing.

Superintendent Noel Polines, city police chief, said the two victims were supposedly on their way to Patag Resort for a family outing when they decided to make a stop at the river.

Pesante went swimming when she slipped. When she reached the deep portion of the river, Oredina saw her struggling for help.

Oredina tried to help her but both drowned due to the strong current of the water.

They were rushed to a hospital, where they were declared both dead. (GYM)
