A POLICEMAN and an inmate were injured after they were involved in separate commotions in Barangay Granada, Bacolod City Saturday, April 7.
Chief Inspector Sherlock Gabana, head of Police Station 5, said Police Officer 1 Jerome Yanson responded to an alarm and scandal report near a public market at 2:40 a.m.
The police officer pacified Ronel Agdana, 25, who was allegedly drunk, when the latter hit him with a bottle of liquor on the head. The suspect also punched him, hitting his nose.
Village watchmen and reinforcement from Police Station 5 arrived and arrested Agdana while Yanson was brought to a hospital.
Agdana is detained at the station for the filing of alarm and scandal and direct assault upon the agent in authority charges.
An inmate also sustained minor injuries after he was mauled by his two co-detainees inside the custodial facility of Police Station 5 on the same day.
Wounded was Eliseo Lacson, 20, of Charito Heights Subdivision, of the said village. He was arrested for illegal drugs.
Gabana said Lacson was mauled by suspects John Rey Gallentes, 39, and nephew Johnny Gallentes Jr., 20, after the elder Gallentes got mad when he told him to move slowly so they can all sleep inside the jail.
The jail officer pacified them and transferred Lacson to the female custodial facility to prevent any harm from the two other detainees.
Gabana said the Gallentes were under police custody for their rude behavior.
They are known to be "troublemakers" and had previous records at the station for their rude behaviors, Gabana added.
He also said that the two Gallentes will have an additional case for physical injuries. (GYM)
