NETIZENS took to social media to admire a police officer who helped a person with disability (PWD) in Calatrava, Negros Occidental.
SunStar Bacolod shared the Facebook post of the Calatrava PCR on March 31, showing Police Officer 1 Domingo Arcillas Jr., a personnel of Calatrava Municipal Police Station, assisting a PWD crossing the street. He also gave him bread and a cup of soft drink.
As of Sunday night, the shared post garnered 742 likes and reactions and 85 comments with 812 shares.
Some of the netizens knew the PWD as a certain "Jesus," whom they claimed would usually ride a bus for free.
More netizens gave their salutes to the police officer for his good deed. He was also praised for his love for humanity.
Omer Lustre Borja said he hopes that his other policemen will also follow his actions towards PWDs.
Neajyram Tiha said: "Sana marami pang katulad mo, sir. Sana wag kang magbago kung tataas yung rank mo. God bless you, sir."
Oting Ocaña commented: "Sana ganyan lahat ng mga pulis, matulungin sa kapwa. Mabuhay ka brod."
Elena Minel Regalado lauded the law enforcer. "Sana lahat ng pulis katulad mo na may pagpapahalaga sa lahat ng may kapansanan, may pusong maawain at matulungin. Hindi tulad ng iba na abusado."
Lynn Perez said: "Napakagandang halimbawa ng pagiging isang pulis. Nakikita ng Panginoon ang kabutihan na ginagawa mo."
Meanwhile, Xia Ann-Gie Basanez, who claimed to be a relative of the PWD in the photo, thanked Arcillas for showing compassion to him.
Basanez wrote: "on behalf of Jesus' family, we thanked you for doing your part to help him. I hope more pa imo ma buligan nga mga tawo, not only sa mga disabled persons kundi sa tanan. God bless you, sir." (GYM)
