Hidalgo: All about recounting of VP votes

FERDINAND R. MARCOS Jr. lost the vice presidential race by 263,479 votes, the closest in any vice presidential race. Marcos claimed that he has been cheated and filed a protest concerning this. Robredo claimed that she legally won and she is fighting for one fact; the fight for the truth.

The Post Election Tribunal (PET) will hear the complaints of Marcos about being cheated in the last national election for vice president. Both parties paid the dues required for the recounting.

On the first day of the recount Marcos was busy speaking before the public explaining how he was cheated and the seen facts on Election Day by Leni's voters that it is not true. Vice President Leni Robredo went to mass with all her followers attended a thanksgiving mass at St. Scholastica's chapel. Habitual bashers released in social media unimaginable demeaning, immoral, and malicious, vulgar statements, which are not true. That all the Catholics, nuns, priest et al are being misled.

A blogger has the guts to give his arguments against the VP elect Leni. He enumerated all his erroneous judgments on the integrity and honor of the VP. The”'lugaw Queen,” the bare foot fighter, the cheater were thrown at her. He said that the shaded discs opposite her name were shaded beforehand and counted as valid votes. That Marcos had no chance to cheat during the elections. Leni had all the chances to cheat to fatten more votes for herself.

What is obvious is Marcos' chances to cheat now - how do you explain wet ballots which could not be counted as valid. Wet ballots inside but the locked cover was dry. Who did this? Why did two trustees personnel for recounting resigned from their posts?

One obvious fact is that President Duterte is openly declaring his siding with Marcos when he overtly said it. He cannot admit Leni as his VP. He humors her on occasions like when they attended the graduation ceremonies of PMA and PNPA. He said to have more graduations so he has the chance to be with Vice President Leni. He jokes about her pretty legs. Duterte did not give her any place in his cabinet. This gave Leni more time to her constituents as VP to work for the upliftment of the poor and the needy. She had more time for all Filpinos she could help as VP.

Trivia - I have a special interest with the Robredos since the time of the famous Jesse Robredo's brand of leadership in Naga. He was the humble servant for all his people walking around with his "chinelas". Special attention was given to the poor and desolate in their parishes. Jesse Robredo with his wife and 3 daughters are a family to be emulated. He could be an ideal president for our country, when he was DILG secretary, he had in his confidential files government officials to be exposed for their wrong doings.

I remember him riding in an airplane to catch up with graduation of a daughter. He did not reach the place for the plane mysteriously crashed in Masbate. This was planned to kill him before he could expose the erring DILG officials. He indeed was my hero, the ideal potential president for our country.

When Leni, his widow, was invited to run as representative of Naga, she agreed to keep the legacy left by her husband. Then as my story of her destiny as inspired by God in my mind I envisioned her as the fitted VP candidate to assume office in case something happens to the President.

And it came true. Lately she declared she might file her candidacy for president. Why not? This is to carry the legacy left by her husband. On the protest filed by Marcos all signs show it will not succeed. The Truth will prevail.
