Strengthening partnership with Uganda

THE Hoc Po Feeds Corporation was established in 1988 to address the growing needs of the international market for export quality feeds supply, white shrimp production and developing strategies for fish importation.

The 33-hectare fish farm in Bago City has been recently visited by leaders of the African Nation, Uganda through the Gulu University Hoima Campus for an ideas exchange program - their mission is to establish a partnership for ideas exchange, agricultural developments and aquaculture efforts that may be applicable to what is dubbed as the Pearl of Africa.

Rev. Father Dr. Bonaventure Kyaligonza, school director, and Stephen Murungi, social services, and operations officer, made the special trip to initiate communication and establish a base of contacts in the province.

With them is Negrense Danny Siega who sits as head of agriculture and fisheries department and pioneers the programs for the poor through engaging university students to act and create solutions for many pressing concerns in African communities

Hoc Po is one the key partners of Gulu University to establish deeper ties for African students to explore in the kind of effective food security practices we have in the region – with the dire need to improve lives of Ugandans – these leaders, decided to seek third world adaptability from the Philippines - a nation with almost similar physical set up.

Uganda is a nation of rich culture and the likes of Father Dr. Bonaventure Kyaligonza, Stephen Murungi and Danny, a Filipino who has adopted its culture, are living testaments of its efforts to create a more secure future through ideas exchange for the children of Africa.
