TWO motorcycle riders died while a policeman was injured in separate road accidents in Negros Occidental over the weekend.
In Himamaylan City, Robby Bregabriel and Willy Baldellon, both 28 and residents of Kabankalan City, were riding a motorcycle when they reportedly overtake another vehicle but collided with a truck at Barangay Caradio-an at 9:30 p.m. Sunday.
Both victims succumbed to head injuries.
Truck driver Sergio Obial, 57, of Poblacion South, San Fernando, Cebu City, is detained at the Himamaylan City Police Station.
In Cauayan town, Police Officer 1 John Mabayag, 29, of Barangay Mambugsay, was on board his motorcycle to respond to a call for assistance at Sitio Bagangbang in Barangay Tiling when he figured in an accident at Sitio Mabua in Barangay Poblacion at 11:10 p.m. Saturday.
Mabayag hit an early warning device placed along the highway that caused him injuries.
He was rushed to a hospital in Kabankalan City. (GYM)
