Domondon: Continuing delivery of service to the public

ANOTHER Pasadang Pambarangay supervised by the Special Services Division of the City Mayor’s Office is scheduled to be conducted on Friday, April 13, at the covered court of Middle Quirino Hill Barangay and this time covering eight villages under District VIII.

The Pasadang Pambarangay which was originally a public affairs program of the DZEQ Radyo Pilipinas Baguio was intended to bring the services of the government closer to the people and the radio program was primarily focused on barangay affairs with the able support of the City Government of Baguio through the Special Services Division of the City Mayor’s Office.

Eventually in 1998, the Pasadang Pambarangay became a community-based program through the partnership of the City Government of Baguio, DZEQ Radyo ng Bayan and other offices and agencies both in the public and private sector, as well as volunteer groups.

For this month of April, the Special Services Division of the City Mayor’s Office led by Mr. Noel Mabutas, Community Affairs Officer IV has scheduled three Pasadang Pambarangays to be conducted with one of them to be held this Friday at Middle Quirino Hill and with the following recipient barangays of District VIII namely:

Dizon Subdivision under Punong Barangay George Banayos (District Coordinator), Camdas Subdivision under Punong Barangay Clarence Domilies, East Quirino Hill Barangay led by Punong Barangay Eric Ueda, Happy Homes Barangay under Punong Barangay Pansie Antia Gaerlan, Lower Quirino Barangay led by Punong Barangay Van Oliver Dicang, Middle Quirino Hill Barangay under Punong Barangay Ignacio Gallente, Pinget Barangay led by Punong Barangay Pablo Pawi Jr. and West Quirino Hill Barangay under Punong Barangay Rodolfo Rimando.

For the Pasadang Pambarangay on Friday the City Mayor’s Office thru its Special Services Division will be partnering once more with DZEQ Radyo ng Bayan as well as the following agencies, offices and volunteer groups: Salinas Optical, Commission on Human Rights (CHR), Phil-Health, Technical Skills and Development Authority (TESDA), Department of Science and Technology-Cordillera Administrative Region (DOST-CAR), Department of Trade and Industry-Cordillera Administrative Region (DTI-CAR), Department of Health-Cordillera Administrative Region (DOH-CAR), Public Employment Service Office (PESO),Pines City College (Dentistry), Family Planning Organization of the Philippines (FPOP), City Veterinary Office and MJ Solane LPG.

As had been done in the past the Pasadang Pambarangay project aims to bring basic and important services to the most underprivileged families in selected barangays which include medical and dental services, information and education campaign pertaining to health concerns, consultations on the various services offered by the various offices and agencies and the giving of advice pertaining to various concerns in the barangays as well as the conduct of consultation and dialogues between city officials headed by the City Mayor with concerned barangay officials.

The program is seen as an active effort and intervention on the part of the city government, thru the Special Services Division of the City Mayors Office and in partnership with DZEQ and other agencies and offices, to reach out to the masses in the grassroots level and delivering the needed services without the usual constraints of bureaucracy.
