4 Chinese, 4 Filipinos arrested in raid on shabu lab

FOUR Chinese nationals and four Filipinos were arrested on Thursday, April 12, during a raid conducted by anti-narcotics agents in an alleged clandestine laboratory in Batangas province.

Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) director Aaron Aquino said the discovery of the shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) and ecstasy laboratory in Hingoso Farm, Barangay Sto. Niño, Ibaan, Batangas stemmed from an intelligence information from the Office of the National Narcotics Control Commission (ONNCC), Narcotics Control Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security, People’s Republic of China.

He said the laboratory can produce at least 25 kilos of illegal drugs each day.

Arrested during the operation were Tian Baoquan and Guo Zixing, who allegedly serves as the chemist in the illegal drugs production, and their alleged Filipino accomplices identified as Eduardo Lorenzo, 59; Rosaleo Cesar, 49 and Amancio Gallarde, 40.

Arrested in a follow-up operation in Tagaytay City were Hong Dy, another alleged chemist, Xie Jiansheng who serves as the organizer and handler of the arrested chemists, and Nestor Baguio, a driver.

Aquino said the apprehended individuals were behind the establishment of the shabu laboratory in the area. He said they were members of the infamous “Golden Triangle,” a drug syndicate which operates in Thailand, Laos and Myanmar. (SunStar Philippines)
