Starbucks to open new stand-alone store in Davao

A NEW Starbucks stand-alone store will be opened within 2018 in Davao City.

Ria Yatco, marketing specialist – Public Relations and digital communications of Starbucks Philippines, said on Wednesday, April 11, at the sidelines of the global coffeehouse chain’s summer campaign launching, emphasizing that this is following the overwhelming Davao market response with its first stand-alone store at F. Torres Street, Davao City.

“We are planning to open the second stand-alone store of Starbucks this year in Davao. Of course, since we are all about community building, celebrating moments of togetherness, we are eyeing for bigger space and we want our stores to stand on its own, especially in Davao, it is really included in the plan to build more (stores) here,” she said.

The new store’s location, Yatco said, has yet to be announced.

She added that the company has undergone series of market research and study through their store development team and considered a lot of factors before deciding to open another branch here.

The Philippine franchise of the worldwide coffee giant has presently over 330 branches in the country, four of which are in Davao City, three mall-based (SM City Davao, SM Lanang Premier, and Abreeza Ayala Mall) and one stand-alone in F. Torres St.

“Davao branches are performing great, it’s interesting to know how each store is developing through time that is why we come up with new products, campaigns to help our customers enjoy Starbucks more. We want to keep on addressing the market needs, we want to cater to everyone, not just one area, that is why we are opening more stores,” she added.

Bringing more product choices to its customers, Starbucks Philippines on Wednesday had its Davao-leg summer campaign launching introducing new flavors of beverages, food items and merchandises available within a limited time.

The highlight of the launching was the two new Frapuccino blended drinks, the Tea-Ramisu and Midnight Mocha.

“This year’s summer campaign revolves about the theme of #getthefeels. We want to keep our customers, and we want them to keep enjoying Starbucks in any place and branch,” Yatco shared.
