Mallorca is new DepEd-Negros schools superintendent

THE Department of Education has installed Dr. Portia Mallorca as the new Schools Division of Negros Occidental superintendent on Wednesday.

Mallorca replaced Gladys Amelyn Sales who is now the officer-in-charge superintendent of the Cadiz City Schools Division.

Prior to her assignment in the provincial schools division, Mallorca was the La Carlota City Schools Division head.

She said they are now preparing for the coming school opening in June.

Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr., in his speech read by Project Officer 4 Ana Marie Lucasan of the Office of the Governor during the turnover ceremony, emphasized that the community will only improve if we produce leaned students who are equipped with the necessary education to pursue their dreams and ambitions.

"We, therefore, challenge our administrators to remain steadfast to their calling (and) to lead their fellow educators with true examples, devotion, and trustworthiness,” the governor said.

Mallorca, meanwhile, said they are also preparing for the holding of Brigada Eskwela before the new school year starts.

Based on the guidelines set by Deped, the conduct of the 2018 Brigada Eskwela will be from May 28 to June 2.
