A RELATIVE of a family who figured in a fatal collision in Barangay Villamonte, Bacolod City on Thursday expressed her anger on social media over the deaths of her family.
Keisha Mae Tesoro, in her Facebook account, recalled the tragic accident which claimed the lives of her relatives.
She said: “Sa mga ga drive pa da nga hubog na, ang halit nyo indi hamak! Indi lahog-lahog! tuod-tuod gid na ya! Mga wala kamo huya! Mga wala kamo konsiderasyon! Mga wala kamo labot sa iban nga tawo! Ang gina paminsar nyo lang ang kalipay niyo! Halit!”
She also expressed anger, “ang halit mo sa pamilya namun indi hamak. Kadamu sang gin patay mo," Tesoro posted on her Facebook account several hours after the accident.
She is a cousin of the 16-year-old girl who was injured in the accident, together with tricycle driver Elvis Barcenas, Geralyn Villar, Merlinda Barcenas.
Erlinda Villar and her daughters Melinda Tesoro and Rodelyn Nacis were killed in the collision.
Keisha said her cousin is still confined at the hospital and has yet to know that her mother was already dead.
On April 12, seven members of the family, who were riding a tricycle, were on their way home to Murcia town when they were hit by the speeding Ford EcoSport driven by 28-year-old Luigi Malacon, cousin of E.B. Magalona Mayor Marvin Malacon.
They came from the hospital where Villar’s husband passed away earlier.
The compact sports utility vehicle (SUV) driver was released Thursday night after the police failed to file the charges within the 18-hour reglementary period due to the limited time in the completion of the requirements.
The fiscal also allowed Malacon to be released from police custody after both parties agreed to meet for a settlement the following day.
Chief Inspector Ritchie Gohee, head of Police Station 4, said the victims' family already talked with the lawyer of Malacon and has accepted the help of the latter.
However, he also said all requirements are ready for the filing of charges should the victims' family pursue the charges.
Keisha, meanwhile, told SunStar Bacolod on Friday she does not agree with the settlement because of the tragic incident.
But it was already explained to her by her other relatives, she added.
"We want justice but it is only a waste of time if we dwell on whether to pursue the filing of the case or not, we still have other family members to be taken care of," Keisha said.
She believes that everything happens for a reason. “It is painful but we have to accept it,” she said.
Keisha said they also saw the support and help extended by Malacon to their family.
