CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Some 50 Filipina hopefuls representing their respective cities and provinces will vie for titles during the Miss Philippines Earth 2018 Swimsuit Parade and Resort Wear Competition this coming April 21 at Central Luzon’s premier event center the LausGroup Event Centre (LGEC).

This is the second time that Carousel Productions, Inc. (CPI), the official organizer of the pageant, collaborated with the LGEC for the said preliminary competition.

Last year in October, LGEC was also chosen as the venue for the prestigious Miss Earth International event where 25 delegates from across the globe graced the center stage and planted trees at the LausGroup Boulevard as part of their environmental advocacy.

Laus Group of Companies Executive Director Carisa Laus shared that the LausGroup is very privileged to partner anew with the CPI for the pre-pageant leg in Pampanga.

“The last Miss Earth pre-pageant held here in October was a success and I do believe that this upcoming swimsuit parade and resort wear competition will be as successful as the last time. We are proud to welcome the latest batch of candidates from the Philippines and show them what the LGEC and the province of Pampanga is all about,” she said.

During the contract signing between CPI and the Laus Group of Companies for the Miss Philippines Earth Swimsuit Parade and Resort Wear Competition 2018, reigning Ms. Philippines Earth 2017 Karen Ibasco expressed excitement on the activity to be held at the modern convention center.

“The moment I stepped inside, I felt like I am in an event center outside the country. It was really grand yet welcoming, and I’m very excited to witness the new breed of Miss Philippines-Earth candidates own their moment here at the LGEC.”

Miss Philippines Earth, originally called “Miss Philippines” in its early years, is a Filipino national beauty pageant held annually in search of the most beautiful and environment-friendly woman in the Philippines.

The reigning titleholders of the said pageant dedicate their year to promote environmental projects and to addressing issues concerning the environment.
