THE Provincial Capitol of Misamis Oriental will soon be offering classes for three languages as Governor Yevgeny Emano will be sending six of his employees to Manila for training.
According to Provincial Information Officer Nicole Managbanag, Emano has been planning to send six capitol employees to Manila to train them in three languages: Nihongo, Mandarin and Arabic.
Two employees will be trained under each language, Managbanag added.
“Hopefully, sabi niya [Emano], if ma-train na sila (he said, after their training,) we can set up a school for language. It’s not siguro (Perhaps its not a) school, kay when you say school, dako ra kaayo diba (its too big). So, crash courses siguro (perhaps),” Managbanag said.
She added that since there’s still no classroom available, the classes will be held in a training center at the capitol.
The plan to send employees for language training, according to Managbanag, came to be after Emano kept receiving visits from foreign investors.
“Yang tatlong language, supposedly yung purpose niyang for training is yung if ever may mga investors na papasok dito, hindi na mahihirapan si gov na maghanap ng interpreter (Supposedly, the purpose of the training is that if even there are more foreign investors coming in the province, looking for an interpreter will not be hard for the governor). He realized na kailangan talaga ng interpreter sa province, especially maraming investors are coming in (that an interpreter is really needed especially since there are several investors coming in),” Managbanag said.
She said the meeting with the Japanese director, who has expressed an interest in employing 1,000 licensed nurses from Misamis Oriental, on April 7 was timely as Emano came into decision that the six employees, after their training, will perhaps be able to teach future licensed nurses in Nihongo, Mandarin and Arabic, if even they decide to work abroad.
“Not just the nurses, it’s for everyone na kailangan na maturuan ng language (who needs to be taught the language),” Managbanag added.
At present, Managbanag said the capitol is still in the process of screening to identify which employees are qualified to be sent for training in Manila.
