Panaad generates P2.1 million on first day

THIS year's Panaad sa Negros Festival has initially raked in about P2.1 million in sales during its opening day on Saturday, a Capitol report showed.

The figure comprised generated income of local government unit (LGU) pavilions, organic agriculture fair, livestock and dairy fair, trade fair and exhibit, eco-garden show, food park, and food kiosks.

The first day sales of this year's festival is higher compared to that of last year with only P1.96 million.

Reports further showed that LGU pavilions have the highest sales amounting to almost P1.04 million.

The remaining sales are from eco-garden show – P275,700; organic market – P88,823; livestock and dairy fair – P127,300; food kiosks – P536,368; and food park – P124,700.

In 2017, the sales reached P18.4 million. It is 72 percent higher from P10.7 million in 2016.

Now on its 25th edition, this year's Panaad sa Negros Festival will run until April 22.

Themed “The Promise Fulfilled,” the festivity being held at Barangay Mansilingan in Bacolod City gathers 32 cities and municipalities in the province for a weeklong activity.
