Pangan: Clark as the next big metropolis

FINANCE Secretary Carlos G. Dominguez, the chief of the Duterte economic team fearlessly proclaimed Clark, in the near future, will be the next big metropolis.

Big-ticket projects are lined up to support this claim such as the P211.43-billion Philippine National Railways North 2 project which will connect Malolos, Bulacan and Clark Airport and the Clark Green City which will host the National Government Administrative Center.

Another major infrastructure project in Clark Freeport is the P12.55-billion new terminal building of the Clark International Airport which, according to Secretary Dominguez will hike the airport's capacity to handle 8 million passengers a year and would thus pave the way for the accelerated growth of Central and Northern Luzon and adjacent areas.

One should also consider the New Clark Green City, now busy with construction projects by consortiums and multi-national contractors.

Several accounts have been made of the participation of countries like Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Japan and, of course, China. Each country has since infused funds, manpower and equipment towards the development of the new Clark Green City and improvements, such as the road network and access roads have been accomplished. Because of the huge project costs only very large construction companies like RD Policarpio Company and Leadway Construction, to name a few, have been given assignments at the new Clark Green City. I suppose giant construction firms such as DM Consunji, RII Builders and New San Jose Builders will join the task of improving the large project.

I have lived in Barangay Tabun, the northern most barangay of Mabalacat City for over three years now. Specifically, my residence at Fiesta Communities is orderly and without hassle, except loud muffler sounds from motorcycles and loud barkings of dogs of my insensitive neighbors. The barangay, I learned, is now drug-free.

Overall, I can say that living in Barangay Tabun is peaceful and stress-free, thanks to the good management of Barangay Chairman Jerry Magsino and his team. Chairman Magsino has seen to it that residents living in his turf can co-exist with their neighbors and attend promptly to whatever concerns, complaints or issues affecting them. Surely, voters in Barangay Tabun have felt and noticed the good leadership of Chairman Magsino and will be voted upon again on May 14, 2018.
