THE Cebu Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Office (CPADAO) awarded incentives to operatives of the police stations of two cities and six towns for their anti-drug operations last year.
The CPADAO gave financial rewards to operatives of the police stations of Danao City, City of Naga, Ginatilan, San Fernando, San Remigio, Pinamungajan, Balamban, and Samboan of the Cebu Provincial Police Office (CPPO).
“There was a resolution from the Sangguniang Panlalawigan for our personnel’s accomplishment. It gives high morale because there are cash incentives for the previous operations,” CPPO Director Edgar Okubo said.
He said there is still a second batch to be awarded by the CPADAO.
Okubo said they are monitoring the police stations in the province who didn’t have any accomplishment in anti-drug operations.
“If they have barangays that were declared drug-free then it may be the cause that they have zero confiscation. If not, then there is something wrong with the chief of police,” Okubo said.
One of the chiefs who were awarded was Chief Insp. Gerard Pelare, the former chief of police of the Danao Police Station.
Pelare said that the cash incentives boosted his morale and vowed to intensify anti-drug operations.
“The financial incentive is just a bonus. Even without the money, we will still do our duty in the eradication of illegal drugs,” Pelare said.
The CPADAO gave P630,000 to the anti-drug operatives. (JOB)
