Men caught transporting unlicensed petroleum products

POLICE arrested two men on Monday morning, April 16, for allegedly transporting unlicensed petroleum products in Barangay Lataban, Liloan, Cebu.

Superintendent Randy Korret, the town police chief, identified the suspects as Sam Jones Tabile Escibar, 39, and John Paul Melevo Castro, 22.

Seized from them were 10 liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) tanks and 210 canisters loaded with butane. The truck, which was driven by Escibar, was also impounded in the police station's compound.

Both suspects failed to show permit from the Department of Energy.

Suspects are facing complaints for violating Presidential Decree 1865, which prohibits the sale of unregulated petroleum products. (KAL/SunStar Cebu)
