THE Yard at Ayala North Point was transformed into a fancy looking parking lot, with big trucks and customized hot wheels perfectly positioned in boulders under the scorching sun, and yes, the dusty summer wind complimented the Negros Auto Convention experience.

Powered by Phoenix Pulse Technology and spearheaded by Headrush X Cole, Phoenix Petroleum, and Ironman 4x4, the exhibition gathered sporting groups and enthusiasts in a display of taste, and others, over the top engineering of machines.

To say the least, the event is a microcosm of the great number of car enthusiasts in the province who appear to have a good investment portfolio to follow their passion.

A visit last weekend did not disappoint to meet the likes of Spitzie Yunque from Ironman Philippines. The team mounted their signature camping essentials that have attracted families who are on the go for uphill weekend trips.

A tour of the area on a bug proved the afternoon more substantial as he disclosed an increasing number of people who are investing in a good ride from both sides of Negros.

Catchy lines proved every inch a reality, like a note that says, “If money can't buy you happiness, at least it can get you a lifted truck.” I caught one saying, “Most lifted truck drivers are happy people and they drive with so much pride.”

Fans drooled beyond their expectations from the mounted displays of MyCar Audio, Ran Empleo, Western Electronics Innovative, Volkswagen Club of the Philippines – Bacolod Chapter, Bacolod Oldskool’in, Vios Club of Bacolod, Honda Jazz Group of Bacolod, Hilux Group Philippines, Team Swift Negros, EON Club of Bacolod, TNVP Team Bacolod, Vince Garde, Ruben Ledesma, Meloy Delfin, Suzuki Celerio Club, Hyundai Accent Club, Honda Civic Club, Dons Jdm, Toyota Corolla Club Bacolod and the prides of Iloilo and Cebu.

Ryan Saez of Headrush, events and production outfit, expressed his appreciation for the car teams after their overwhelming participation.

Saez thinks of the autocon as a great diversification in his roster of party and concert gigs that have attracted many young people in recent history.

Indeed, it has kept its promise to make this summer season hotter with hot wheels, a fiery take on top of the line models, vintage restorations, and enhanced driving experience.
