Farmer shot by partner in Kabankalan City

A FARMER was injured after he was shot by his partner inside their house following an argument over a carabao in Barangay Tan-awan, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental, Sunday night, April 15.

Police identified the victim as Rogelio Medez, 57, of the said village.

Senior Inspector Jerald Muya, city police chief, said suspect Marita Pasilan, 63, shot Medez after they got into a heated argument when they arrived home around 8 p.m.

Muya said the victim scolded the suspect after the latter failed to inform him that she brought the carabao to the river for a bath.

The suspect then took the victim's .38 caliber revolver and fired at him, hitting his stomach.

Medez was brought to Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in Bacolod City, while Pasilan is still at large.

Muya said Medez has yet to decide whether to pursue charges against Pasilan or not. (GYM)
