Bandit leader nabbed in DavSur

MEMBERS of the 110th Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB) 11 have arrested one of the most wanted persons in Barangay Saub in Matanao town in Davao del Sur on Tuesday morning, April 17.

In a report obtained from the Police Regional Office (PRO) in Davao region, the suspect was identified as Domenaldo “Ta” Pandoy Gulaya, an alleged bandit leader, from the same town in Davao del Sur.

PRO-Davao spokesperson Chief Inspector Milgrace Driz said Gulaya was arrested after a five-minute firefight between the RMFB and a group of bandits led by the suspect in Sitio Paitan, Saub.

Gulaya was wounded on his left chest and was brought to Davao del Sur Provincial Hospital in Digos City for treatment.

Driz said Gulaya has a pending warrant of arrest for violation of the Presidential Decree 533, otherwise known as The Anti-Cattle Rustling Law, before he was nabbed around 5:03 a.m. Tuesday.

Recovered from the possession of the suspect were caliber.22 rifle loaded with one cartridge, caliber.357 revolver loaded with five rounds of ammunition, one fired cartridge from the revolving cylinder, and one hand grenade.

Gulaya was also found in possession of one pouch containing seven cartridges for caliber.22 rifle inside and assorted amulets.
