Kalinga gets P55M Pamana projects

KALINGA province has received an additional P55 million worth of Payapa at Masaganang Pamayanan (Pamana) projects under the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (Opapp) this year.

Community development projects under Pamana aim to bring progress to conflict-affected or -vulnerable areas.

Provincial Director Francisco Gamatero of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) said the projects are all located in the municipality of Tinglayan.

“This is part of the gains derived from the peace accord forged between the government and the former Cordillera Peoples Liberation Army to connect the mountain barangays of Tinglayan to the national highway and boost agricultural production in the area,” Gamatero said.

Tinglayan Municipal Engineer Basilio Chulsi Jr. said one project has been completed, five are ongoing and one is yet to start. (Peter Balocnit)
