Capitol to release workers’ year-end bonus this week

THE provincial government of Negros Occidental will release this week the

year-end bonus for Capitol employees, Acting Governor Salvador Escalante said Wednesday.

“We expect that the year-end bonus will be released this week. It’s 50 percent of the 13th month because half of it was given as mid-year bonus," he added.

Escalante also said that Provincial Budget Officer Jose Percival Salado is still waiting for directive and guidelines from Malacañang regarding the additional bonus.

Last year, each Capitol employee received a total of P55,000 in additional and incentive bonus. An additional bonus of P35,000 was given in December last year and P10,000 in January this year.

Escalante said the additional bonus would be sourced from the savings of the province this year.

“The savings will be equally distributed to the Capitol employees,” he said.

Meanwhile, Escalante said the province is fast tracking the approval of the purchase requests as the year-end nears.

The budget and the accounting offices will have a cut-off for the vouchers before the year ends.

The governor will no longer sign PRs starting next week except for emergency cases, he added.

Escalante said he signed yesterday morning the pending PRs that were previously allocated but lacking in documents.
