POLICE shot dead a suspected drug pusher after he resisted arrest and attempted to shoot the arresting police officer in a drug bust in Davao City Monday evening.
Operatives of San Pedro police station led by its station commander Chief Insp. Ronald Lao in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Davao Region (PDEA) conducted a drug bust operation at 9:10 p.m. along V. Mapa Street in Barangay 10-A.
The drug suspect identified as Cairdoding Rasid Mala, alias Tol, 42, who hails from Marawi City in Lanao del Sur, tried to sell a sachet of suspected shabu to a police operative who acted as buyer in exchange for the P500 marked money.
But the suspect sensed that the transaction was a police operation so he tried to fire his .38 revolver towards the police operative.
Police returned fire and hit the suspect in different parts of his body, resulting to his death.
Scene of the Crime Operatives (Soco) conducted an investigation and recovered fake peso bills amounting to P19,500, P500 marked money, .38 caliber pistol, and one fired cartridge case.
Also seized from the suspect's possession were sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P90,000.
The cadaver of the suspect was brought to Angel Funeral Parlor while the evidences were submitted to the custody of the Soco and San Pedro police station.
