Thousands register for Clark jobs fair

ANGELES CITY -- Thousands of job seekers registered in the recent Clark Freeport Job Fair of Clark Development Corporation (CDC) held at the Ayala Marquee Mall here.

Some 656 applications pre-qualified to the 9,107 job vacancies posted by 57 locators inside the Freeport.

The job fair is a joint project of CDC, Clark Investors and Locators Association (CILA), Department of Labor and Employment (Dole) Region III, Public Employment Service Offices (PESO) of Pampanga and Marquee Mall.

Participating firms include 3C ISSI, All Fashion Gloves, Beepo Inc., Bestelement, Bizsolv Asia, CDCI, Clark Resort Travel and Amusement Corporation, Connext LLC, Duke Software, EGS, Faith in God, Foton, FSPhil, GFL Systems Clark Inc., Gold’s Gym, Green Canyon Leisure Farm Corporation, IQOR Philippines, Inc., Ivoline IBT Core Inc., Kaixin Int’l Corporation, K-Mas, Laus Group of Companies, Leadhustler, Maxim De Humana Int’l, Midori Clark Hotel and Casino, Nanox Phils, NClub, O and G Leather, Outback Five Star Clark Phils, Owens Asia.

Other are Prothrowbacks, PSMC, Punta Design, RingsideMarketing Corporation, SAT-A, Schenker, Service Resources, SG Eco Industries, SMK Electronics, Spicus, Starboard Manpower Services, Super Hyper Manpower, Sutherland, Talkingnet, Tallships Business Centre, The Medical City Clark, Texas Instruments (Phils) Inc., Top Sellers Plus, Widus Int’l Leisure, Wontechphil Int’l Corporation, Yats Int’l, Puregold Club, Duty Free, Clark ACES-MPC & Evertrust Business Solutions Inc.

As the job fair ended, 34 job seekers were hired on the spot by some companies.

A total of 308 applicants qualified for examinations while 314 were scheduled for interview.

Officials who attended the event were Rodem R. Perez, Manager of CDC Marketing and Support Services Department; Noel G. Tulabut, Manager of CDC Communications Department; Rommel Narciso, Manager of External Affairs Department; Linda Pamintuan, Executive Director of Subic Clark Alliance Development Council; Geraldine Panlilio, Assistant Regional Director of Department of Labor and Employment; Arlene Castro, Treasurer of Clark Investors and Locators Association; PESO Angeles City and City of San Fernando and Mark Valencia, Councilor of Porac.

As a continuing initiative to address the issue on job mismatch, the CDC, SCADC, Tesda, various universities and local government units in Pampanga have formally collaborated to prepare skills training for the students and out of school youths.
