3 men nabbed in drug busts in Talisay, Asturias

TWO men were arrested in an anti-illegal drug bust in Barangay Tanke, Talisay City, Cebu, before dawn yesterday.

Raymund Obrero, 30, and Ronilo Napalla, 23, were arrested by operatives of the Talisay City Police Station after they were allegedly caught selling illegal drugs in Sitio Tunga, Barangay Tanke at 12:30 a.m. yesterday.

Confiscated from Obrero were one medium pack and nine small packs of suspected shabu with a street value of P24,780. The P100 bill used in the buy-bust was also confiscated from Obrero.

Drug sniffing paraphernalia like tooters, tinfoil, lighters and tissue wicks were allegedly found in Napalla’s possession.

Insp. Windell Abellana, Talisay City deputy police chief, said that one of his men posed as a decoy and closed a deal with Obrero for P100 worth of shabu.

Immediately after Obrero handed over the illegal drug, Abellana’s team arrested the drug suspect and his companion Napalla.

Abellana said that Obrero was known in the area as a drug peddler. He was previously arrested by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) after he was caught with a group of men using drugs in a den in Barangay Tanke last year. He is out on bail.

In Barangay Owak, Asturias town, police arrested Jefferson Abendan Torre, 25, in a buy-bust last Saturday afternoon.

Torre, who hails from Balamban town, was caught by the team of police operatives led by Senior Insp. Narciso Abapo.

Seized from the suspect’s possession were 12 small sachets of suspected shabu worth more than P3,000.
