CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- The Pampanga Small and Medium Enterprise Development (SMED) Council and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Pampanga, in cooperation and the GIZ “Promotion of Green Economic Development” GIZ ProGED will conduct on December 17 a “green” business conference aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) amid the call to protect the environment.
Themed “Greening Strategies, Toward MSME Competitiveness,” conference’s objective is to enable MSMEs as well as government institutions relevant to economic development to increasingly implement environment friendly, climate smart and inclusive strategies and measures.
“Earth is our only home and the concern of humanity today is on how to conserve the environment, and experts believe that we can reverse some of the harm the planet has suffered through environment-friendly endeavors. The challenge at present is getting enough people to take drastic enough action so that we can make a difference in our lifetime,” said DTI Pampanga Provincial Director Elenita R. Ordonio.
Speakers in the business conference include Mincini Hinay of the World wide Fund who will speak about “Climate Change.”
The business conference will also have GIZ ProGED Senior Advisor Klaus Peter Berkemeyer who will discuss “Greening Enterprises for Enhanced Competitiveness.”
Testimonials of “green” practitioners will also be heard during the conference which be held at Ichiban Express along MacArthur Highway in Barangay San Isidro, City of San Fernando, Pampanga.
A fee of P400 will be charged each participant to cover dinner to be collected upon registration, which starts at 3:00 pm.
