2 Chinese arrested for illegal drugs

TWO Chinese nationals were arrested Saturday by police personnel for their alleged involvement in the illegal drug trade in Davao City.

Sasa police, led by Inspector Laurentino Calope Jr., served the warrant of arrest (WOA) issued by Judge Rowena Apao-Adlawan of Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 13 around 8 p.m. against Mykel Thurl Wee Sit Yu, a resident of Polaris Street in Nova Tierra Village in Lanang.

The arrest warrant was issued against Yu for violation of sections 11 and 12 of Republic Act (RA) 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Police also arrested Dwene Hensel Wee Sit Yu, brother of the suspect, after he tried to prevent police officer from arresting his brother.

Police personnel frisked the suspect's brother and seized sachets of suspected shabu, a weighing scale, an improvised tooter, aluminum foil, and cash amounting to P23,000.

The seized items were placed inside a black sling bag owned by the suspect's brother. The evidences were turned over to the Sasa police for custody. (KRP)
