DAVAO City Health Office (CHO) Environment and Sanitation Division Chief warned the public on fake inspectors claiming that they are from city government offices who are observing the December inspection ban.
Oconer in an interview with Sun.Star Davao on Wednesday said that effective December 1, city offices are banned to make inspections unless they will receive complaints.
He warned public not to believe on unscrupulous individuals who are doing inspections for a fee.
“Noong Friday at Lunes may pumunta dito sa office, hiningian daw sila ng sanitary inspector ng P5,000, meron nadaling P800. Pero yung pagdescribe nila yun pa rin po yung taong gumagamit sa pangalan ko,” Oconer said.
He also named a certain Mr. Edgar Jatico who allegedly conducts inspections using his name for a fee on areas that are not usually visited by the sanitary inspectors.
“Eto po yung dinadalaw niya from sari-sari stores, marami siyang naloko,” Oconer said.
He added that the sanitary inspectors do not visit sari-sari stores, and they do so only when they receive complaints.
“Yung mga sari-sari store hindi natin dinadalaw yan provided na may complain, ingay, selling of cigarettes and liquors sa minors saka natin dinadalaw yan,” Oconer said.
Oconer said that Hatipo had been improsoned many times.
“Nakulong na po ito siya probably dozen of times and was probably bailed. Tapos yung complainants ayaw naring magfile ng kaso so nakakalabas parin siya,” Oconer said.
Hatipo has been elaborately described by the complainants as “pandak”, “bayot," “mataba” and “panot”.
He added that as for the whole month of December any city offices must first secure permission from the city administrator to conduct inspections on establishments complained.
He said that as for the complaints received in the households, their office can hold inspections immediately without any mandate from the city administrator.
