CSF identifies 'healthy places'

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- The City Government of San Fernando, Pampanga recently announced the winners of the Search for Healthy Places 2015.

Through the City Health Office, the winning establishments were carefully selected and evaluated according to the existing health and sanitation ordinances of the city. The criteria for this selection are appropriate waste management system, food safety, pollution-free environment, and accessibility of health services, among others.

The Healthiest Eating Places Award were given to Ichiban Mix Buffet along Jose Abad Santos Avenue (Large Category), Cookbook Restaurant in Barangay Sindalan (Medium Category), and Teresita Razon Halo-Halo and Palabok Main Branch (Small Category).

For the Healthiest Hospital Award, the winners are Jose B. Lingad Memorial General Hospital (Large Category), Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Medical Center (Medium Category) and Pampanga EENT and General Hospital (Small Category).

Pampanga’s Best Inc. was named as the grand winner for the Healthiest Workplace Award (Large Category), followed by Pepsi-Cola Products (first place), Universal Robina Corporation (second place)and SMC Brewery (third place), while Mister Donut of Deliscents Inc. and Wow Mani of RPO Fine Food Corp. were recognized for the small and medium categories.

The Hotel Gracelane in Barangay San Agustin and Villa Alfredo’s Resort were identified as the Healthiest Hotel and Resort in the city respectively.

The Healthiest Barangay Award was awarded to Telebastagan (Large Population), Baliti (Large Population), and Malino (Large Population).

For the Healthiest School Award, the winners are San Fernando Elementary School (Large Category), Sindalan Elementary School (Medium Category), and Dela Paz Sur Elementary School (Small Category).

In an interview, Mayor Edwin Santiago said that the search aims to increase awareness of the interaction between health, the environment and development.

“We hope to inspire establishments, schools, and everyone who provide services to improve the quality of life through the promotion of healthy places,” said Santiago. (PR)
