Daycare workers, PWDs get goody packs, financial aid

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Almost P10-million worth of cash and goody packs were distributed to 1,220 persons with disabilities (PWDs) and 652 Day Care Workers in the province during the 444th Aldo Ning Kapampangan held Friday at Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center, this city.

Governor Lilia Pineda personally handed out P7,000 each to the day care workers with a total amount of more or less P4.5-million and P2,500 each to the PWDs with a total of P3.2-million.

Aside from this, the governor personally gave additional P500 each to all the attendees including 10 kilos of rice, hotdogs and fresh chicken and other goodies worth millions of pesos.

The funds were allocated and approved by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan headed by Vice-Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda for the social services program of the provincial government.

The governor said this is the provincial government’s way of thanking the PWDs and the day care workers for their support in the implementation of the provincial government’s program intended to their sector.

“I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude, my love and care for you who have always been there to support my administration. I thank you and love you very much,” the governor told the attendees.

In response, the PWDs and day care workers applauded the governor and chanted their care and support to the governor whom they consider as “Nanay” of the province.

The governor said because of the support and cooperation of all sectors, the province now belongs to the top 10 richest provinces in the country.

She reminded the PWDs and day care workers that the provincial and district hospitals run by the provincial government will automatically pay their Philhealth premium for one year through the Point of Care Program once they were admitted in the government hospitals.

“Better life, good health and having a peaceful family and community who enjoy the economic gains of the province are my wish and prayer for the Kapampangans especially this Christmas. Sana wala ng mahirap, lahat may trabaho ang gusto ko ngayong Pasko at sa bagong taon na mangyari sa mga Kapampangan,” she said. (PR)
