CA junks petition vs P10 taxi fare rollback

A COURT of Appeals (CA) division has dismissed a petition by a transport group seeking to stop the implementation of the P10 provisional rollback on taxi fares.

The CA 13th division junked 1-United Transport Koalisyon (1-UTAK) party list petition's for certiorari and prohibition against the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), saying in a resolution that it was premature.

The resolution added the issue should first be resolved by the LTFRB before going to the CA for help.

In its petition, the party list asked the court to issue a temporary restraining order (TRO) on the implementation of the P10 reduction of the taxi flag down rate believing it is unfair for taxi drivers and operators.

The LTFRB implemented the reduction of taxi fare rate from P50 to P40 early this year. (Sunnex)
