"EVERYTHING happens for a reason."
This was the message of Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez moments after she was erroneously announced as Miss Universe 2015 instead of the Philippines' Pia Wurtzbach.
Gutierrez said she is "still happy" about what she has accomplished in the world's most prestigious beauty competition.
It would have been a back-to-back victory for Colombia if Gutierrez was named the rightful winner.
"I'm happy for all (what) I did... for becoming this dream true. I'm still happy. Thank you to all. Thank you for voting for me," she said.
The Miss Universe Organization had already apologized to Gutierrez, Wurtzbach and the pageant viewers for the error made during the announcement of winners. (Sunnex)
