BACOLOR -- The Provincial Government of Pampanga vowed to provide assistance needed by the family of the Kapampangan overseas Filipino worker (OFW) who was recently executed in Saudi Arabia.

Eliza Muñoz, head of the Pampanga Action Center for OFW Concerns (Pacoc), said that Governor Lilia Pineda has instructed the assessment of the needs of Joselito Zapanta's family, particularly during this time of grief.

"Pinapa-asikaso niya yung mga kailangan ng pamilya pero sinabi na niya na magpapadala siya ng pagkain para sa mga vigil nila na gagawin dito," Muñoz said.

Aside from basic commodities, Muñoz said that the governor will fulfill the late OFW's request to ensure the future of his children.

"Nagkausap sila two years ago, and according to governor, Joselito was particular in his request to ensure yung pag-aaral ng mga bata," Muñoz said.

The Provincial Government, together with the Pampanga Mayors League, is set to raise money which will be converted into the children's trust fund.

"The whole Pampanga, every municipality, is now one in helping our kabalen," Muñoz said.

Muñoz added that even before Joselito's execution, Pineda was already sending financial assistance to the family.

"Yung twice na visit nila doon, binibigyan sila ni governor ng $1,000 allowance," Muñoz said.
