Worst in 2015: Feud, suspension, and murder

THE anti-graft court was on a roll, disgorging public officials’ wheeling and dealing, suspect acts and associations. Constituents could now gape at them and drown in their dismay.

The indicted cried political persecution, though, a purge of 2016 election rivals, as the suspensions came fast and furious in 2015.

When the feuds of leaders put government services on hold, the governed lost.

Out of the spotlight, treachery attended crime when perpetrators near and dear made horror houses and graves of places of comfort—home, car, restaurant.

Death came by domestic dispute, terrorism, flawed planning, but also by negligence.

In the contests for influence, ideology, for life itself, there were few winners in 2015.
