LIMITED slots for the 2016 Cebu City Marathon (CCM) will be available on-site starting today, January 6, while the registered participants can now claim their race kit at the Active Zone of Ayala Center Cebu.
Franco Bambico of RunRio told Sun.Star Cebu yesterday that there will be limited slots available in the 42K, 21K and 5K categories starting today until Saturday.
The 2016 CCM, a race accredited by International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) and Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (Aims), is slated this Sunday at the Cebu IT Park Garden in Lahug, Cebu City.
One of the organizers, John Pages of Cebu Executive Runners’ Club, said they are opening an on-site registration because there are still plenty of runners in Cebu who have not registered.
As of yesterday, there were 3,387 enlisted runners for the three categories. The half-marathon has the most number of participants with 1,515, the 42K is close behind raking in 1,407 marathoners, while 465 are listed in the short distance 5K.
The runners can start claiming their race kit today. The schedule for claiming on Jan. 6 to 8 will be at 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and on Jan. 9 at 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
For the ninth edition of CCM, the 42K blast-off first at 3 a.m. and will have a cut-off time of seven hours.
The 21K follows at 4 a.m. with four-hour cut-off time and the 5K at 4:50 a.m. with one hour and thirty minutes cut-off.
The champion in the marathon open division will get P35,000, while P30,000 and P25,000 for the second and third place. The Top 3 in the local 42K will also receive cash prizes, the champion will win P20,000; second place will win P15,000; and the third placer will get P10,000.
The Top 3 in the local 21K will get P10,000, P7,000 and P5,000 while the 5K podium finishers will bag P3,000, P2, 000 and P1, 000.
Registration fee for the marathon is at P1,800, the half-marathon is at P1,500 and P650 for the 5K inclusive with race tee, race bib, timing chip, lootbag, and finishers medal and tee for the 42K and 21K finishers.
